Sustainability & Dongli

Cold Winters = Great Cashmere

Inner Mongolian winters are harsh, regularly experiencing temperatures of -40°C/F. Not even Canadian winters can compare to these temperatures. Cashmere goats grow very thick 'under coats' of extremely fine cashmere hair to protect them. It is this fine hair which is combed in spring and used to make super soft sweaters.

Cashmere Sourced Sustainably

We work closely with herders to implement new methods of sustainable farming for our cashmere goats. We are continuously evolving methods to protect our environment.

Always Combed

Cheaper, inferior brands will shear the goat in the same way sheep are sheared. At Dongli we never do this, not only does this affect the quality of cashmere, but also leaves the goat less protected from the elements.
